Robin Padilla On His Alleged “Racist” Remarks: “Wala akong pinagsisisihan”

Robin Padilla still stands by his words to the Korean contestant of PGT which according to some netizens is a form of being racist

Action movie actor Robin Padilla was recently criticized for his alleged racist remarks during the January 13 episode of ‘Pilipinas Got Talent’ wherein he is one of the judges along with Vice Ganda, Angel Locsin and Freddie M. Garcia.

The actor received negative comments from netizens following what he said to one of the contestants of the talent show who is a Korean.

He said to the Korean aspiring star to speak in Tagalog before the guy can talk to him.

Based on the report of The Philippine Star, Robin did not regret what he said during that time because for him it is an appropriate thing to do.

The action star also pointed out that he, himself travels to other countries and when abroad he tries his best to learn the language of the place where he is.

As a visitor of a country, one must exert effort to communicate to the language of the people living there, according to the action star.

He also said during the press conference for his new TV series ‘Sana Dalawa Ang Puso Ko’ that it is not appropriate for a foreigner to demand a Filipino to speak English.

“Kung pupunta ka dito sa Pilipinas at uutusan mo kami at iinglisin mo kami sa banyagang pananalita, ay baka nagkakamali ka kasi bayan ko ‘to. Handa akong mamatay anytime para sa bayan ko,” the action movie icon iterated.

When asked what’s the difference of the recent incident to a previous Korean contestant whom he did not force to speak Filipino, the Bad Boy of the Philippine showbiz industry said that it is a different case since the latter contestant is already living in the country for 10 years.

“Hindi mo sa’kin pwedeng sabihin na mahal mo ang Pilipinas. Sabi niya mahal niya ang Pilipinas eh, may girlfriend siyang Filipina, pero hindi siya marunong mag-Tagalog,” Robin Padilla reasoned out.

On the other hand, the action movie star reiterated that he was speaking to the Korean contestant in a fatherly manner and he did not intend to make it as a controversial topic, based on the report.
