Maritoni Fernandez disclosed the secret for her fit and healthy body and how she maintains even though she is about to reach her golden age

Veteran actress Maritoni Fernandez is one of the most convincing antagonists both in TV shows and movies.

She is known for looking so fierce when delivering her “kontrabida” lines that can truly affect the audience.

Her strong character is not only contained on screen because in real life she also showed her strength when she fought against breast cancer.

It was in the year 2001 when the actress was diagnosed with the said ailment.

In order to make sure that she will win in her fight against cancer, Maritoni had to change her lifestyle. She decided to turn away from high-stressed lifestyle that she was living before.

“I know I had to make major changes in my life that would make sure na hindi na babalik ang cancer,” she said during an episode of Kapuso’s ‘Pinoy MD’.

After 20 years of being cancer-free, the actress was able to maintain her fit body at 48, based on the article published in GMA just recently.

Maritoni Fernandez shared her fitness routine which she calls functional exercises because it can be done anywhere, anytime, with very minimal requirement of equipment.

According to the actress these kinds of exercises are just simple to do but all parts of the body are already involved.

The “kontrabida” actress also shared the exercise she invented together with her fitness trainer and she calls it as “Maritoni’s Pain”. This also targets the whole body.

The last part of her fitness regimen is the most exhausting one, according to the actress.

Maritoni Fernandez said that she intends to do it last because it will drain all the energy left on her body from the two preceding exercises.

“‘Yung pag-gym or pagwo-work out and pagkain ng healthy everyday, lifestyle ‘yan. Hindi pang ngayon lang, pang fad para ma-hit mo ‘yung certain weight mo lang,” the actress shared her ideals when it comes to getting fit, based on the article.
