“I need something more,” Kiray Celis said on leaving ABS-CBN
Actress Kiray Celis stated about leaving her former TV network, “I need something more” as she is now a contract artist of GMA.
Kiray started entering show business when she joined a child search. After that, she had a regular stint on ‘Goin Bulilit’ until she reached her teenage years.
She was also featured on some TV series in the Kapamilya network. This is aside from guestings and other shows.
Behind the fact that she started and grew up as an artist of ABS-CBN, Kiray Celis recently decided to transfer to the rival network. She signed an exclusive contract with GMA on December 20.
In line with her decision to switch network, the actress revealed the reason why she chose to be a Kapuso now.
She admitted that she felt that she needed to do something more.
“Sabi ko sa sarili ko, hindi na ako naggo-grow as an artist. I need something more,” she admitted.
Kiray also said that since she has no regular show in the Kapamilya network, she decided to do her career move.
“Nagge-guest lang ako kapag may pelikula akong pino-promote, and then I realized, ‘Paano pala kapag wala akong pelikula, so wala akong guesting?'” she added.
That was the time she realized to step back and take another path.
“Iba na yung tatahakin kong papuntang lugar, kung saan ako dapat pumunta. And I decided na pumunta rito sa GMA,” she shared.
Now, as a Kapuso, Kiray said that she felt overwhelmed for the warm welcome she received, based on report.
“Naramdaman ko agad yung love and yung respeto sa talento ko, yung respeto nila sa akin sa pagiging artista, ” she said.
AVP for talent imaging and marketing Simoun Ferrer said, “we’re very happy that Kiray is now with GMA Artist Center. Isa siyang napaka-talented na actress so madami siyang puwedeng gawin.”
