Netizens commended the daughter of President Rodrigo Duterte, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte after she was caught shopping at NCCC Mall of Davao.
The photos were uploaded by the popular Facebook page “Proud Bisaya” on Sunday and it immediately went viral. The photos have garnered more than 37,000 reactions and have been shared for more than 3,000 times, as of posting.
Photos show Sara Duterte wearing blue long sleeves and holding her own grocery basket. Netizens praises her for her simplicity.
A Facebook user named Dhen Malupa said that she is very proud of the Philippines’ first lady because she lives a simple life and she is compassionate with her constituents.
“Natural beauty, simply but bungga ang dating. We’re proud of you ma’am Sara! Finally, First Lady of my beloved Country na mabait,simply at my puso sa kapwa Hindi puro ka ik-ikkan raartihan kundi kabaitan…Change is coming… I’m coming home with confident! No more worries!” he wrote.

President Duterte earlier said that he wants Sara Duterte to be his first lady. However, the Mayor refused to accept it, saying that she will be busy as the Davao’s chief executive.
President Duterte is separated from his wife Elizabeth Zimmerman. He is now living with his common-law wife Honeylet Avanceña, whom she has 12-year-old daughter with.
President Duterte has not yet formally introduced his First Lady until now. People also think that he is comfortable not having one.
