Bela Padilla Admits Having Mental Health Issues While Doing ‘Ang Probinsyano’

Bela Padilla admitted that she had mental health issues while she was playing the character of Carmen in ‘Ang Probinsyano’.

Kapamilya actress Bela Padilla admitted that doing ‘Ang Probinsyano’ brought her some mental health issues.

Bela played the role of Carmen in the Kapamilya drama-action series of Coco Martin.

That character is the wife of Coco’s character in the show who is a policeman.

According to the article published in Bandera, Bela shared that she was so affected with her character in the teleserye.

This cause some mental health issues to her. She develop a certain kind of anxiety.

“Kapag sasakay ako ng plane, in my mind I was telling myself, this plane is going to crash. I knew I was going to die. And everyday, every time I would ask my driver to take me to set I was sure you’re gonna hit something or something would go wrong and I was gonna die,” she revealed.

The actress said that during that time, she did not know what to do. She can’t tell anyone about it knowing that it sounds crazy.

Because of this, she was able to write a movie script with the title ‘Last Night’. Bela, then realized that the whole movie is about death. Two of her characters wanted to commit suicide.

On the other hand, she clarified that she is not suicidal because of her parents’ strictness.

“I was brought up in a home that was so strict about everything that you can’t even think of dying. Baka sa oras na talagang totoong mamatay na ako in real life, baka pagalitan pa ako ng Mommy ko,” she said with jest.

The actress was able to share her experience about mental health problems for Boy R. Abunda Talks held in Seda Vertis Hotel just recently, based on the article.

The former ‘Ang Probinsyano’ actress said that the purpose of this project is to tell people that it is okay to talk about mental health issue and they shouldn’t be afraid to say that they are not okay.
