Like other actors, actress Solenn Heussaff also undergone drug test to show that she is not using illegal drugs.
Several actresses and actors have already undergone test on illegal drugs use, and included now on the list is the actress Solenn Heussaff.
This is amid President Rodrigo Duterte’s intensified crackdown against illegal drugs in the country, fulfilling his promise to eliminate drugs in six months after sitting as the president since June 30.
On a document public on Thursday, the actress has tested negative for illegal drugs.
Few days ago, celebrities such as Patrick Garcia and Luis Manzano also undergone drug testing for methamphetamine (shabu) and tetrahydrocannabinol (marijuana).
Aside from the said two actors, Kapamilya stars James Reid and host-actress Anne Curtis also underwent drug tests, and it turned out negative.
According to the Viva Artists Agency (VAA), the reports are nothing but “unfounded rumors.”
“These reports were broadcast on AM radio and published in several tabloids with only an unnamed ‘pusher’ as a source and with no further evidence to support the claim,” VAA said. “Ms. Curtis and Mr. Reid are aware of and give importance to the influence of artists in society as role models to the youth.”
“Thus, VAA and its artists have taken the initiative to publicize the results to inform the public of the truth and to show support for the government’s campaign against illegal use of drugs,” the statement concluded.
Prior to this, tabloid reports linked the names of the said actors to the use of illegal drugs surfaced.
Curtis is a close friend of Heussaff.
Like Curtis, Heussaff also underwent the said drug test last Tuesday at the Makati City branch of Hi-Precision Diagnostics, a medical laboratory licensed by the Department of Health and accredited with the Dangerous Drugs Board.
Leo Dominguez of LVD Management & Consultancy Services, the talent agency of Solenn Heussaff, released the laboratory test results of the actress in support of the government’s war against illegal drugs.
“This is also to inform the public of Solenn’s beliefs of clean and healthy living,” Dominguez said. “Solenn practices in what she believes in, which is to live a healthy and productive lifestyle, this includes her position against the use of prohibited and illegal drugs.”
