Richard Gomez Will Be The Next Mayor In Ormoc City
Board of Canvassers proclaimed that Richard Gomez will be the next Mayor and the new father of Ormoc City after the tough battle against Liberal Party Ondo Codilla.
According to the data transmitted by Commission on Elections, Richard Gomez won the mayoralty race of 53,234 votes from Nationalist People’s Coalition while Ondo Codilla got only a 44,453 votes.
It is a sweet victory for Goma after its failure from politics. He was the first who run as a party-list representative of MAD (Mamayan Ayaw sa Droga) but was disqualified by the Supreme Court.
According to balita.net, in the year 2007, Richard Gomez run a senator but never been fortunate to win. Last 2010, he tried again to run for a position in the House of Representatives but was disqualified due to the residency issues.
In his fourth test in politics last 2013, he run as a mayor in Ormoc City but was outweighed by his opponent Edward Codilla.
You can say that his fourth career is a big help for Goma as an actor which he sees as plus factor for his victory.
Goma will now become a public servant for his position as mayor next month, he said that it is a big decision for him to renounce in showbiz and for facing his newest responsibility.
“It was a big decision for me. Kasi ang ganda ng takbo ng career ko. This year, last year, and next year will be a better career for me as an actor,“ said by the actor.
There will be a double celebration for the family of Goma because his wife Lucy Torres won the position of the congresswoman of the 4th district of Leyte.
