Christmas Lights For December Must Be Of Quality Standard – DTI

More than two months to go and it is Christmas time but the DTI reminds the public to be mindful in buying Christmas lights amid the shopping rush.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is advising the public to be extra careful in buying Christmas lights or lighting chains to be used coming the month of December.

The DTI has also sent a reminder to all Christmas lights importer to ensure that Christmas lights to be sold meet the prescribed requirements as mandated by the Bureau of Philippine Standards (BPS).

The DTI has also sent reminders to the importers that lights or lighting chains to be sold must bear the appropriate Import Commodity Clearance or ICC stickers or the Philippine Standard or PS Certification Mark before distribution in the local market.

Christmas lights

For this 2016, all Import Commodity Clearance (ICC) certificates for Christmas lights issued by the BPS from January 1, 2013 up to the present is considered valid.
