BAGUILAT – Ifugao Representative Teddy Baguilat expressed his side on the statement of Pres. Rodrigo Duterte in Cambodia.

Recently, Pres. Duterte has been visiting other foreign countries. He has been to Japan, Indonesia, China and several other nations for his official state visit.

In fact, his visit to China has warmed the relationship between PH and China after it has been challenged by the territorial dispute over the West Philippine Sea months ago. The Chinese government has allowed the Filipino fishermen to fish in the disputed shoal after Pres. Duterte’s visit.

Recently, the President has flew to Cambodia as an official state visit in the foreign nation. Photos and videos showing the preparation in Cambodia for the visit of the Philippine President even circulated in the social media.

Undeniably, many netizens were wowed by the preparation of the Cambodian community for the visit of the Philippine President. Some even noted that it only showed the respect that other races have towards the chief executive of the Philippines.

However, in a recent news report in Inquirer, it is stated that Ifugao Rep. Baguilat is not convinced that the 71-year-old President is serious about his statement.

Ifugao Rep. Baguilat even described it as ‘part’ of Pres. Duterte’s ‘being melodramatic’. “He always wants to show he is an underdog and that everybody is against him,” the lawmaker expressed to the news media people.

Nevertheless, the report also made mention that Baguilat, House of Representatives’ ‘Magnificent 7’ independent minority bloc chief, expressed that the health condition of Pres. Duterte should always be a concern of the public.
