SUMMER TIPS PHILIPPINES – Here is a list of five(5) things to do to protect yourself from the intense heat of the sun.

It is summer season now in the Philippines. Undeniably, the heat of the sun most especially during noontime is intense that is why a lot of people are extra careful in going out.

The heat posts a lot of risks to human beings most especially in health aspect. It can cause from sunburn to heatstroke. The latter has the capacity to take away a life if not attended to right away.

Considering the intense heat in the Philippines now and the fact it may run as much as until the month of June, we may consider some summer tips to protect ourselves from the heat.

Based on an article on MediCard, here is a list of five(5) summer tips to protect yourself from the intense heat in the Philippines now:

1. Keep yourself hydrated

The intense heat will make you sweat more thus a huge amount of water is being released by your body. It is important to replenish and keep yourself hydrated.

Based on the article, to prevent dehydration, Dr. Nicky Montoya suggests drinking between 4.65 to 6.25 fl oz of water per hour.

2. Eat healthy food

It is important to still eat healthy food even though it is time for a celebration. There are still a lot of delicious yet healthy food out there that can help strengthen the immune system.

3. Use sunscreen

The heat of the sun may pose a lot of health risks most especially to the skin. Based on the article, to prevent sunburn and skin cancer, apply a sunscreen with at least SPF 30.

4. Schedule proper time for exercise

Although it is summer season, the exercise sessions must continue. But, the time should be safe for doing strenuous activities. According to Dr. Montoya, it should not be between 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

5. Use sunglasses

Aside from protecting the skin, you must also protect your eyes during this season of intense heat. Use sunglasses with 100% UVA and UVB protection to avoid eye ailments.
