Duterte To Use Wooden Armchair He Used During 2016 Election For 2018 Barangay Poll

President Rodrigo Duterte will use the wooden armchair that he used during the 2016 elections when he casts his votes in Barangay elections this May 14.

President Rodrigo Duterte will use the wooden armchair that he used back in 2016 elections when he will vote for this year’s Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan polls.

This coming May 14 in Davao City, the said historical armchair which is displayed at Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School will be used once again.

For almost two years on display, it will be taken out of the glass case to be used by the Chief Executive of the Philippines. The wooden armchair now serves as a memento when the President, who was then a Mayor of Davao City, voted in the said school.

Based on the article published in ABS-CBN News, the security around the school has been tightened for the fact that President Duterte is set to cast his vote there for Barangay and SK elections.

Principal Arlene Pernes of DRANHS said that they are implementing crowd control measures around the school premises for an orderly voting. It was unlike during the 2016 elections when voters remained in the school to witness the former Davao City mayor and now elected President when he was voting.

The voting precinct where Duterte voted last 2016 presidential elections had been renovated into a 4-storey building and it is located near the entrance of the campus to give him convenient access, based on the source.
