The three congressmen were identified as Rep. Edgar Erice of Caloocan City, Rep. Jesus Romualdo of Camiguin and Rep. Henedina Abad of Batanes, the three lawmakers will never be part of the supermajority once the 17th Congress opens.

Congressman Edgar Erice is being banned from joining the majority because of his connection to losing presidential candidate Mar Roxas. He is considered as one of the attack dog of the Liberal Party during the May 9, 2016 national elections.

Rep. Henedina Abad was also banned because she is the wife of outgoing Budget Secretary Florencio Abad, who is LP’s idealogue, while Rep. Romualdo allegedly tried to disrupt Pres. Duterte’s campaign in the province of Camiguin.

Aside from the three Liberal Party lawmakers there are other representatives who were banned from joining the majority party but are appealing to Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez.

For the past few days, more and more Liberal Party lawmakers keeps switching to PDP-Laban just to be in the majority bloc and keep their seats within the house and avoid Duterte’s cross-hairs which reduce LP to 40 members from their previous number of 110 and the number will keep dropping.
