Gobyernong May Puso Advocate Leads Race

Gobyernong May Puso advocate, Senator Grace Poe, tops the “truth survey”.

Recently, Catholic Church-run Radio Veritas conducted a survey which was branded as “truth survey”. Among the five candidates for presidency, Gobyernong May Puso advocate, Senator Grace Poe, tops the ranking.

The survey is done with the help of the characteristics on board.

The said characteristics were: awareness, listening skills, empathy, healing, persuasion, conceptualization, foresight, stewardship, commitment to the growth of the people and community building.

According to Clifford Sorita, Radio Veritas consultant, the respondents were asked to respond “yes” if they think that the presidential candidate possesses such characteristic and “no” if otherwise.

Results showed that Senator Grace Poe ranks first on the nine characteristics except on the “awareness” area. With 48.7 percent, she ranked last on the said characteristic.

With 70.8 percent, Senator Poe was believed to be the most emphatic by the respondents. Further, the female candidate is also believed to have a healing quality by half of the respondents of the survey.

Fr. Anton Pascual, the president of Radio Veritas, emphasized that the survey conducted was to find out not who among the presidential candidates is popular but who really possesses the servant-leadership characteristics.

Fr. Pascual further added that Greenleaf believes that a servant leader is someone who puts other’s need first and helps others develop themselves as highly as possible.

The result of the survey does not really intend promotion or endorsement from the church as cleared out by Manila Auxiliary Bishop Broderick Pabillo. He even added that it was for the purpose of examining the presidential candidates.

With an over-all percentage of 51 percent, Senator Mirriam Defensor-Santiago ranks next to Senator Poe. Davao City Mayor Rodrigo “Digong” Duterte and Mar Roxas tied on the third rank with 44 percent each.

Placing last on the five characteristics, Vice President Jejomar Binay’s over-all percentage of 41 percent put him last in the final ranking.
