Super Trawlers Stretch More Than The Titanic’s Size And Trap Innocent Ones

super trawlers

First of all, super trawlers are basically a “fishing boat”, but it’s an understatement if you called so. Why? Because it’s like a monster that can consume anything, even everyone that comes along.

For the record, this monstrous fishing boat leaves nothing behind but an oily film on the water.

This oily film spreads miles and miles and destroys the marine ecosystem, causing poison to sea animals and to the whole marine life.
There are a lot of major reasons why super trawlers should not exist, and you already know why.
why else should be worries about this anyway? Well..
Not only marine animals are in danger but also sea birds. Those who are unfortunate enough will be trapped in nets and being pulled on-board through a giant hose on order to be k1lled.
Take note of that, not only it catches poor marine animals because of its size, they are also being k1lled on the process.

Tony Burke, Environment Minister, said in 2012 that he would impose “tough” conditions on super trawlers for the sake of “non-target” marine animals.

But still, pathetically allowing 10 seals per day, to be k1lled as ‘by-catch’.

Through this, protected seals and their entire family could possibly be extinct in no time.

Super trawlers

One more thing, these gigantic fish nets are being dragged through the water for several hours!
These could lead to dolphins, sharks and turtles to be caught and unable to escape.

Legally (and illegally) subsidized super trawlers have removed West Africa’s fish population, just to feed Europe’s limitless desire for food.

And one of the worse things is that, these foreign-owed trawler companies sell fishes back to the resident fishermen who can no longer provide for themselves.
Not only West Africa is to be concerned of right now, but also the whole of Australia.
Be friendly to the nature, and it will take care of you, voice out now and take part in stopping these super trawlers!
