Gender Reveal Fireworks Creates Wildfire, Destroys 7,000 Acres of Land

GENDER REVEAL FIREWORKS CREATES WILDFIRE – Local authorities reported that a gender reveal party caused a massive wildfire in Southern California.

For quite some time now, people have had creative ideas on revealing the identity of their babies. Some do it using cake, others do baby gender reveals using balloons. However, there are some that use more extravagant ways to reveal their child’s gender.

Sadly, this gender reveal party caused massive damage to several homes and thousands of acres of land. According to an article from ABS-CBN, over 500 firefighters and four helicopters fought the El Dorado blaze located east of San Bernardino.

The fire started Saturday morning said the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire). On their official twitter account, Cal Fire stated:

CAL FIRE Law Enforcement has determined the El Dorado Fire, burning near Oak Glen in San Bernardino County, was caused by a smoke generating pyrotechnic device, used during a gender reveal party.

Furthermore, they emphasized that the residents responsible for starting the fire would be held financially accountable. Moreover, they would also be criminally responsible for the damages as well.

California has been known for their wildfires. The hot and dry conditions of the sate had caused several fires with more than 1.6 million acres destroyed so far.

As per the article, more than 200 people had to be airlifted to safety over the weekend due to a rapidly moving wildfire. The flames trapped the residents near the Mammoth Pool Reservoir northeast of Fresno.
