Gerald Anderson, in cooperation with Front Row Philippines, hosted the Th3rd Floor Celebrity 3v3 charity basketball games last Sunday, December 15.
“Kaibigan ko yung may-ari ng Front Row and we share one passion which is basketball. Nalaman ko that they have their own foundation and sabi ko why don’t we do something to give back?” Gerald Anderson told PUSH. “Yung mga bata sa Cottolengo Filipino, ilang years na kaming may relationship with that. So we just came here to play basketball and nag-donate ang Front Row Cares to them so they’re going to have a great Christmas. We’re just here because of the love for the game and love for helping other people.“
The proceeds from the said event turned over to Cottolengo Filipino, a charity that was based in Montalban, Rizal.
For the event, Gerald invited Marco Gumabao, Young JV, Kyle Echarri, Axel Torres, and Jairus Aquino. He also invited Jayjay Helterband and Thirdy Ravena to support the said event.
“Right now we have celebrities here and we have PBA players,” he said. “Competitive silang lahat. So ang ganda ng energy, walang gustong magpatalo But we’re all here for a good reason.“
Aside from supporting Cottolengo Filipino, he was also an ambassador of goodwill by the Philippine Youth-KASAMA (Kabatang Sama-samang Maglilingkod).
“It’s going to be a long year and I’m very privileged dahil may bagong platform to help,” he added. “Because I’ve been doing this naman as a celebrity but now it’s different because I have a new platform which will reach more people and mas marami tayong matutulungan.“
