Grave Of A Spanish Princess In Mindanao Flocked By Tourists

The grave of Princess Criselda Simbara Ybarra of Spain is found in a private cemetery in Polomolok, South Cotabato.

The All Saints Day and All Souls Day is the festival of tourists at a private cemetery in Polomolok, South Cotabato in Mindanao where the grave of Princess Criselda Simbara Ybarra of Spain is found.

Aside from the locals of South Cotabato, there are also tourists from General Santos City, Davao City and other neighboring places who, after visiting their departed loved ones, never miss to pass by the grave of the Spanish princess.

According to local historian Teodolo “Jong” Ramirez who authored the book “Who in Who”, Princess Criselda is from Spain who sailed with her fiance from Mexico.

But while on-board the vessel, a storm raged in and directed the lovers in Sarang-ini, which is now called the Sarangani Bay.

According to the historian, pirates from Indonesia saw the lovers and the group molested the princess while the man’s life was taken.
