Worst Airports In Asia – The Ninoy Aquino International Airport was ranked number 5 of the worst airports in Asia, as travel website stated.

According to the travel site The Guide To Sleeping In Airports, there are lots of complaints against NAIA that includes the infamous ‘tanim bala’ scam, a scheme which blackmail passengers to pay a huge amount of money by placing a bullet secretly in their baggage.

Other things that have complained against NAIA include bad air conditioning system, power outages, complicated terminal transfers, and lack of seats.

But, the travel site also acknowledges the improvements in the airport in Manila, despite the shortcomings. Survey responders have suggested for “cleaner bathrooms, more chairs and some general organization of taxis in front of the terminal would help to make life here a lot more manageable.”

Back in 2011 and 2013, NAIA was ranked as the “world’s worst airport, as well as the worst back in Asia in 2012.

In 2015, although NAIA was not included in the world’s worst airports, it still remains as one of the worst in Asia.

According to the travel site, the list has been topped by Uzbekistan’s Tashkent International Airport and was followed by the Tribhuvan International Airport in Nepal, Pakistan’s Bacha Khan International Airport, and Afghanistan’s Hamid Karzai International Airport.

After Philippines’ NAIA, other worst airports are listed as Pakistan’s Benazir Bhutto International Airport, India’s Chennai International Airport, China’s Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, Bangladesh’s Shahjalal International Airport, and Cambodia’s Siem Reap International Airport.

Meanwhile, there are four airports on the Philippines which made it to the travel site’s Top 30 Best Airports in Asia. These include Iloilo International Airport (ranked 12th), Mactan-Cebu International Airport (ranked 14th), Clark International Airport (ranked 15th), and Davao City’s Francisco Bangoy International Airport at rank 26.
