As Duterte is known for being not the usual, convenient and ordinary leader of the country, many were surprised when he revealed his plans for the former rebels.

It was said that all 683 female rebel returnees who are former members of New People’s Army (NPA) will have a great chance to spend a vacation in Hong Kong.

After these rebels surrendered, this is what awaits them for returning to the government.

They don’t have to spend a single centavo on the said trip and all they have to do is to rest and take their time to have relaxation.

Aside from that, the female rebel returnees will have a chance to dine with President Duterte on the day that they will arrive in Hong Kong.

Furthermore, the more than 600 women who are ex-rebels will have the opportunity to meet their fellow returnees who are now working in the government as peace advocates.

On the other hand, there is no finalization yet regarding the date of the said tour, according to EastMinCom Spokesperson Maj. Ezra Balagtey.

The spokesperson also pointed out that the tour intends to provide help in integrating to the rebels into mainstream society as well as to change their life’s perspective, based on the article.
