JUST IN: Duterte Declares July 31 A Regular Holiday (Eid’l Adha)
EID’L ADHA – President Rodrigo Duterte declared Friday, July 31, to be a regular holiday as the Philippines observes Eid’l Adha. The announcement was made by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.
Eid’l Adha or the Festival of Sacrifice is a Muslim celebration that most countries do on July 31st. Islam has two major feasts such as “Eid’l Fitr” and “Eid’l Adha”. As respect to their religion, the Philippine government was acknowledging their major activities and feasts.
This celebration is done on the 10th day of the Dhul Hijjah, the 12th and last month of the Muslim Lunar Calendar. Eid’l Adha is the second of two Muslim holidays, which was celebrated not only in the Philippines but also in different countries all around the world every year.
