Duterte Overtakes Poe In Pulse Asia Survey

Rodrigo Duterte lead the latest Pulse Asia presidential survey.

Less than one month before the election, the Davao City Mayor Rodrigo “Rody” Duterte led the latest Pulse Asia survey, overtaking the erstwhile frontrunner Grace Poe in the pre-election presidential poll.

According to ABS-CBN News, the tough-talking Mayor topped the survey with 30 percent, followed by Grace Poe with 25 percent. Vice President Jejomar Binay and Liberal Party standard-bearer Mar Roxas were statistically tied with 20 and 19 percent, respectively.

The survey was conducted in March 29 to April 3 and has covered 4,000 registered voters nationwide. It has an error margin of plus minus 15 percent. This means that Rodrigo Duterte is clearly ahead of Grace Poe, who previously dominated the presidential surveys.

Poe’s running mate Senator Chiz Escudero came second also in the vice presidential survey by Pulse Asia. Senator Bongbong Marcos got the top spot with 28 percent, while Escudero received 21 percent. The latter was statistically tied with Camarines Sur representative Leni Robredo who got 22 percent.

While Duterte topped the survey, his running mate Senator Alan Cayetano came third with 15 percent. He was followed by Senator Antonio Trillanes IV with 5 percent, while Gringo Honasan placed last with only 4 percent.

In the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey commissioned by Business World, Durtete topped also the poll with 27 percent. Poe came second with 23 percent, followed by Binay and Roxas who were statistically tied in the third place with 20 and 18 percent respectively. Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago got only 3 percent.
