“Filipino Invented Wi-Fi” Post Of FB Page Went Viral

A post of GAG Pinas saying that a “Filipino Invented Wi-Fi” went viral and gathered various reactions from thousands of Facebook users 

GAG Pinas posted a satire on its Facebook Page just recently which said that a Filipino invented the Wi-Fi.

According to the comic representation of the said “information”, the term was taken from the name of its inventor Wilhemyo Filisterio and it was just sold to the tech giant Apple on 1979.

The Page Admin even included a face of the man, apparently to represent the supposed to be inventor.

This particular post of the GAG Pinas, has already reached 14 thousand reactions, more than 17.8 thousand shares and received more than 3 thousand comments, as of the writing.

Netizens were quick to ride on with the humor of the Page’s admin.

There are those who also bragged the “information” they have learned, which are obviously an invention of their creative and humorous minds.

On the other hand, there is one netizen who took the joke seriously and explained on the comment box the history of Wi-Fi.

The said netizen who seriously took the post of GAG Pinas, received negative comments from other Facebook users.

Because of the comical post on the said Facebook Page, other netizens indulged to share their own jokes to the comment box.

One netizen pointed out that he knows who is the man in the photo used on the post and according to him it is the father of his co-member in an organization.

Furthermore, another netizen testified what is the real identity of the man in the photo, which GAG Pinas referred to as Wilhemyo Filisterio, “the inventor of Wi-Fi”.

According to the netizen “Guimo Pantuhan”, the said post was a an act of disrespect to Alexis Belonio, the real identity of the man in the photo.

Belonio, as an engineer is indeed an inventor but not of Wi-Fi. He developed an innovative, clean-burning cooking stove fueled by rice husks, based on the article of National Geographic.
