Alden Richards to Star in Filipino Version of “My Love From The Star”

Alden Richards as Matteo Do in Pinoy remake of “My Love From The Star”?

“Ultimate Bae” Alden Richards is currently being rumored to star in the Filipino remake of hit Korean TV series, “My Love From The Star”.

In an interview with PEP.ph and other members of the press, block-buster director Joyce Bernal said that she’s working with a “Korean-inspired” project.

However, she did not divulge what is the title of the series in particular but she confirmed that Alden Richards will be one of its cast.

“Ang alam ko siya (Alden), siya ang sinabi sa akin,” the director confirmed. But she did not stated if his showbiz partner, Maine Mendoza, will also star in the series.

Nevertheless, the director noted that the Internet sensation-turned-celebrity has possibility to join the cast of the Korean-inspired project.

“Si Maine, yeah with Alden, kasi may chemistry sila, e,” she said during the interview.

According to Director Joyce Bernal, the upcoming series will premiere after “That’s My Amboy” starring Barbie Forteza and Andre Paras.

“My Love From The Star” is 2014 Korean TV series which was premiered on GMA-7 starring Kim Soo Hyun as Matteo Do and Jun Ji Hyun as Steffi Cheon.

It centers on the story of an human-like alien (Matteo Do)who landed on Earth in the Joseon Dynasty and falls in love with a top actress (Steffi Cheon) in the modern era.

On the other hand, Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza are popularly known in their tandem, “AlDub”, short for Alden Richards and Yaya Dub.

They came to prominence on Kalyeserye portion of “Juan For All, All For One” segment of the country’s longest running noontime show, Eat Bulaga.
