Pres. Duterte is unsure if he will still be around at the end of his term.
DUTERTE – President Rodrigo ‘Rody’ Duterte spoke before the cheering crowd of Filipinos in Cambodia. He expressed uncertainty on whether he will still witness the end of his term or not.
Pres. Duterte is already 71 years old when he decided to run for the presidential post. Undeniably, a big part of the populace really wanted the former Mayor of Davao City to run for the position.
During the election campaign, he has vowed to clean the Philippines from illegal drugs in three to six months in case he wins the post. In the 2016 presidential election, he went out as the victor against four strong bets through a landslide victory.
He then started the battle against illegal drugs. In the recent months, a lot of drug users and pushers were really alarmed by the warnings of Pres. Duterte and they decided to surrender to the authorities.
Pres. Duterte has also been recently visiting other nations. He has been to Indonesia, Japan, China, and to many other countries. His travel to China brought home a lot of investments projects for the country.
Based on a previous news report, Cambodia has also prepared for the visit of Pres. Duterte. Netizens were even wowed by the preparation of the foreign country and the respect to the Philippine President.
A recent news report in ABS-CBN News stated that the 71-year-old President spoke to a cheering crowd of Filipinos in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia.
“I am old … This is my last hurrah — after this, 77 — I am not sure if I will still be around by the end of my term,” Pres. Duterte expressed according to the report.
He also shared that he had “found out very late” that the presidency is not what he needs at his age. Nevertheless, the President showed no signs of regret.
“It’s not a question of having regrets, none at all, because I entered into it… I take pleasure at the end of the day… I am doing something right,” says Pres Duterte.
He also expressed that ousting him is good for him and taking his life is better for him as it is everyday that he has a migraine and he also has spine issues and Buerger’s disease according to the news report.
Pres. Duterte also shared that he is advised by doctors of an operation in his spine but his wife did not agree with it as many surgeries in the spine have not went out successful.
