2016 Bar Examination Joined By 2 Elderly Aspiring Lawyers
In Bicol, a 59 and 69 years old aspiring lawyers from University of Santo Tomas (UST) have joined the first of the Four-Sunday 2016 Bar examination.
Over 6, 831 law graduates are qualified to take the 2016 BAR examinations administered by Supreme Court including Lazaro “Larry” Perillo, 59, of Albay and Jose Nueva, 69, of Camarines Sur. The bar exams are one of the unlimited chance to pursue a dream, according to the chairman of this year’s bar exam committee Justice Presbitero J. Velasco Jr.
Nueva has been haunted for 30 by frequent interruption during his sleep in the middle of the night since 1984 after he finished his law course. Nueva failed to take the bar exams and has set aside his dream for 30 years for the sake of his family.
Jose chose to be a teacher and landed a job in the National Statistics Office (NSO) and retired on 2008. He is now on his gray-haired days and his six kids are supporting him morally and financially to make his dream come true.
