Topnotcher from University of Cebu will receive a brand new car from the school.
The University of Cebu will give a brand new car to Mechanical Engineering student and topnotcher Marina Melendres Luchavez, who led the March 2016 Mechanical Engineering Licensure examinations, following the announcement of one of the schools officials.
Marina Melendres Luchavez is one of the UC students who made it to the top 10. She topped the board exam with the score of 91.60 percent. Another UC student is Neil Ivan Jon Buquing Domingo who placed second with rating of 91.15 and Rald Lawas Quiachon ranked four with 88.90 percent.
The University Chancellor Candice Gotianuy announced on her Facebook account that the student from Barangay Tayud, Consolacion, Cebu will be receiving a brand new car from the school. She added that they will select one teacher who will also receive the same prize. The other topnotchers will also receive financial incentives, according to her.
“Marina Melendres Luchavez, first placer in the Mechanical Engineering exam, you will be receiving a brand-new car! Neil Ivan Domingo, 2nd placer and Jay Rald Quiachon, 4th placer, you will each receive financial incentives. It takes a university to produce topnotchers but we will select one teacher to receive a brand-new car as well,” she wrote.
According to Inquirer, the board exam result was released by Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Tuesday evening April 5, 2016. Only 910 students passed of the total 1,645 examinees.
Marina Melendres Luchavez is not the first student to receive a brand new car from the University. In 2015, the Michelle Liao who placed 5th in the Bar examinations was also given a new car.
