America Awaits Official Demand On Duterte’s Driving Away Of US Troops

Until the official demand is received, the US assures its commitment to its alliance with the Philippines.

President Rodrigo Duterte’s driving away of the United States of America (USA) special troops in Mindanao has already reached the attention of US officials.

US State Department spokesman John Kirby said that they have already read about Duterte’s statement but they have not yet received any official demand from the Philippine government.

According to Kirby, Duterte has not yet made any communication with regards to forcing US special forces leave the Mindanao.

With this, the United States of America assures continued commitment to the Philippines as an ally country.

Kirby said: “We are not aware of any official communication by the Philippine government… to seek that result. The United States is committed to its alliance with the Philippines”.
