The anger-filled reaction of a netizen cannot be concealed after Pura Luka Vega asked for financial assistance. Following a series of declarations branding Pura Luka Vega as persona non grata, various negative reactions were received from the public, including the challenge for him to perform as a Muslim.
As a Christian who believes in God, it’s difficult to fathom using the image of the Lord solely for entertainment purposes, especially when it appears to be treated with ridicule or disrespect. Pura Luka Vega has done this multiple times in his show as a drag queen performer, dancing to the tune of the “Our Father” prayer, a song held sacred by Catholics in the church, symbolizing the prayer left by the Father from above. Even the Ostia, or holy bread, was not spared by Pura as he engaged in a mukbang with it.
The news quickly spread on social media platforms and even on television, where many criticized and expressed anger towards him, leading to a cascade of cases and declarations of persona non grata in various places. This situation is what prompted him to seek financial help now for his legal battles and for his family.
