The recent suspension of the MTRCB on the noontime show “It’s Showtime” due to a scene involving the married couple Vice Ganda and Ion Perez has become controversial. This decision has sparked various speculations because the current MTRCB Chairperson, Lala Sotto, is known to be the daughter of former senator Tito Sotto, who is a pillar and host of the rival noontime show “E.A.T.” However, MTRCB Chair Lala Sotto clarified that she abstained from the voting, ensuring there was no conflict of interest. Nevertheless, the influence of this decision on the public’s perception still lingers.
It’s worth noting that “It’s Showtime” was given a motion before the final decision was issued, confirming the 12-day suspension of the show. Additionally, concerns were raised about other employees, especially those on a “No Work, No Pay” arrangement, as they might lose their source of income to support their families.
Following the MTRCB’s final decision on the 12-day suspension of “It’s Showtime,” ABS-CBN decided not to appeal the decision. Instead, they temporarily replaced the show with “It’s Your Lucky Day,” hosted by Luis Manzano, the National Host, along with Robi Domingo, Melai Cantiveros, and Jennica Garcia. This new show was well-received by the public, garnering high ratings.
Meanwhile, the hosts of “It’s Showtime” enjoyed their vacation together in Hong Kong. In a video reportedly taken by Vice Ganda, they appeared to be having a great time, bonding, dancing, and displaying the joy and camaraderie that resembled a close-knit family. Here is the video showing the hosts having a good time together.
