Gerald Anderson trains K9 dogs and launches a foundation.
Kapamilya hunk actor Gerald Anderson said that he is training K9 dogs to help save lives in times of disasters and calamities in the Philippines. He also launched the Gerald Anderson Foundation for search and rescue dogs.
Speaking to ABS-CBN News, the “Pinoy Big Brother” star said that the first batch of K9’s is now training in obedience, area search, and many more. He and his team will also be trained on how to handle dogs.
Gerald Anderson said that his foundation aims to help people, adding that he also know what it feels to be affected by calamities since he also experienced it.
“Yung makakatulong kami, yun po yung motivation talaga ng foundation, yung mga personal experience ko sa floods, sa mga nanganagilangan ng tulong, hindi bilang artista pero bilang isang tao, someone who has power and nasa position para makatulong sa iba,” he said.
Gerald Anderson recently starred in the hit prime time series “Nathaniel” with Shaina Magdayao and child actor Marcasa.
Meanwhile, Gerald Anderson is currently filming an indie movie titled “Awol,” a film that centers the story of Filipinos in uniform.
He hopes that the movie will brought the attention of people to soldiers and their struggles, noting that many people still have no idea about the ongoing battles in the country.
“Sobrang kulang sa pansin and hopefully, I can bring yung much attention dito sa mga sundalo natin, to make a difference,” he said.
