Japan’s Abe To Meet U.S President Trump In New York

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will head to New York to meet 45th U.S President Donald Trump reassuring U.S-Japan security alliance.

On Thursday (November 17, 2016), Japan’s Abe and his wife Akie will leave Haneda airport in Tokyo, Japan to meet Trump in New York. This will be the first meeting of Trump since he claims the U.S presidency over Clinton last week.

Trump’s statements during the presidential campaign have caused distress in most world capitals including Tokyo, Japan, and South Korea as allies can contribute a lot to the cost of basing U.S troops in their countries, according to Donald Trump.

Japan is worried on comments such as when China challenged the United States security status quo in the Pacific. Abe also worries for his country due to the North Korea’s threat. Its America’s strategic interest to deploy troops in the region, according to Abe.
