President Duterte describes former President Ramos who has initially supported but later criticized his administration.
Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte said on Saturday that he describes former President Fidel V. Ramos as a number one supporter and critic.
Ramos, who was appointed as the special envoy to China, had later criticized the decisions of President Duterte, along with his policy pronouncements.
As he spoke to his fellow Bedans during the alumni homecoming of the San Beda College of Law in Taguig on November 26, Saturday, the Chief Executive said that the presence of critics is an indication that there is still healthy democracy in the Philippines.
“Former President Fidel V. Ramos, my number one critic and number one supporter and that is good”, Duterte said. “You know, decent and criticism would make this democratic country healthy”, he added.
