Presidential candidate and neophyte senator Grace Poe remained to be the top choice after she led the latest Pulse Asia survey. Commissioned by the network giant ABS-CBN, the result was released on Friday April 1, 2016.
The March 15-20 survey which covered 4,000 registered voters showed Grace Poe with 28 percent of vote preference among other candidates. This was not the first time the 47-year-old topped the presidential poll.

Davao City Mayor Rodrigo “Rody” Duterte claimed the second spot with 24 percent, while vice president Jejomar Binay placed second with 23 percent. Liberal Party standard bearer Mar Roxas received 19 percent and senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago got only 2 percent.
The survey was conducted days after the Supreme Court reversed the decision of Commission on Elections (Comelec) to disqualify Grace Poe from the presidential race. The case questioned the senator’s citizenship and her qualifications to run for the country’s highest official.
In the previous March 8-13 survey, Grace Poe was statistically tied with Duterte. The poll was also conducted by Pulse Asia and commissioned by ABS-CBN.
Meanwhile, the vice presidential race was in a close battle, especially after the survey showed Senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and senator Chiz Escudero tied in the first place with 25 percent.
It was followed by Camarines Sur Representative Leni Robredo who got the second place with 21 percent and senator Alan Peter Cayetano with 14 percent. Senator Gringo Honasan got 5 percent, while senator Antonio Trillanes IV had 4 percent.
The presidential and vice presidential election is scheduled on Monday May 9, 2016. This coming election will determined the 16th president of the Philippines.
