Boss Toyo of “Pinoy Pawnstars” purchased the first large pot used by the famous social media personality and paresan owner, Diwata. This pot symbolizes her success and rise from poverty.
According to Diwata, the pot holds sentimental value as it was the first tool she used to cook pares during the height of the pandemic. Through this pot, she managed to overcome hardship and elevate her status. In 2020, she began selling pares using only a cart. Unfortunately, she could not retrieve the cart after it was taken during a clearing operation.
Despite having a hole, the pot can still be repaired and used. When Boss Toyo asked Diwata how much she wanted for the pot, she said she wanted to recover its original cost.
Boss Toyo initially offered ₱1,500, but Diwata thought it was too low and requested a higher amount. She even offered to include her old and worn-out slippers in the deal. Diwata suggested ₱3,500 for both the pot and slippers. Eventually, they agreed on ₱3,000, excluding the pair of slippers.
As part of the agreement, Diwata signed both the lid and body of the pot, adding a personal touch to the tool that marked the beginning of her successful business. Today, this pot is not just a simple kitchen utensil but a symbol of hope and perseverance.
For Boss Toyo, the pot is not just a collection piece but a part of Diwata’s colorful success story that will inspire many. His purchase of the pot demonstrates his support for local entrepreneurs and their stories of hard work and triumph.
Despite the simplicity of the transaction, buying the pot brought new meaning and value not only to Diwata but also to the viewers of “Pinoy Pawnstars.” The story of the pot serves as a reminder that significant changes and success can come from small steps and simple tools.
