Willie Revillame Hires Carlos Yulo’s Trainer to Improve His Health

TV host and senatorial aspirant Willie Revillame has enlisted the expertise of Hazel Calawod, the former personal trainer of two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo, to improve his health and prepare for an upcoming “commitment.” This comes shortly after Revillame announced his candidacy for the 2025 senatorial elections.

On Sunday, October 13, Revillame shared a glimpse of his training session on his official Facebook page. The photo showed him working out on a stationary bike while Calawod guided him through the process. In the post, Revillame captioned, “Umpisa na para ma-kundisyon ang health ng mind and body ko for a commitment (It’s time to condition my mind and body for a commitment). With Coach Hazel Calawod, the personal trainer of Gold Olympic Medalist Carlos Yulo.”

Calawod, now based in Australia, holds impressive credentials. On her Facebook page, she describes herself as a Harvard-certified human factors specialist, MIT-certified data scientist, and sports therapist. She played an integral role in Carlos Yulo’s preparations for the 2024 Paris Olympics, where Yulo secured his second Olympic gold medal. Calawod’s expertise was highly valued by Yulo and his team, with the athlete recognizing her contributions as vital to his success.

Beyond her work with Yulo, Calawod has connections in the world of entertainment and is known to be friends with several celebrities, further solidifying her reputation as a sought-after trainer.

Revillame’s decision to hire Calawod signals his determination to prioritize his health as he gears up for his senatorial campaign. The specifics of the “commitment” he is preparing for remain undisclosed, but given his active involvement in both entertainment and politics, it is speculated that he is aiming to ensure he is in peak physical and mental shape for the rigorous demands ahead.

Revillame formally entered the political arena by filing his certificate of candidacy (COC) on October 8, the last day of the filing period. The TV host is also currently the main host of the popular game show “Wil To Win,” balancing his entertainment career with his new political ambitions.

As Revillame embarks on his senatorial bid, his decision to invest in his health suggests that he is not taking this next chapter lightly, ensuring he is well-prepared for whatever lies ahead.
