Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC) founder Apollo Quiboloy, who was hospitalized earlier this month due to an irregular heartbeat, underwent another round of medical examinations at the Philippine Heart Center over the weekend, the Philippine National Police (PNP) confirmed on Monday.
PNP Spokesperson Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo provided an update on Quiboloy’s condition, assuring the public that the religious leader is stable and recovering well. “Kasalukuyan pa rin po [siya] nasa Philippine Heart Center. Dinala po siya doon nung Sabado for another medical examination, and he is expected to be back sa Custodial Center po ng 4 p.m. ng November 27,” Fajardo stated during a press briefing.
(He is currently at the Philippine Heart Center. He was brought there last Saturday for another medical examination, and he is expected to be back at the custodial center at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27.)
Quiboloy, 73, has been held at the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame, Quezon City, as he faces legal issues both domestically and internationally. His transfer to the hospital on November 9 was prompted by complaints of chest pain and irregular heartbeat, which required immediate medical attention.
Authorities have assured that proper medical care is being provided to Quiboloy, emphasizing their commitment to safeguarding his health while in custody. His latest visit to the Philippine Heart Center was reportedly scheduled as part of a comprehensive evaluation following his earlier hospitalization.
Supporters of the KJC leader have expressed concern over his health, calling for prayers and expressing hope for his swift recovery. However, critics remain skeptical about the timing of his medical concerns, suggesting that his hospitalization may be an attempt to delay ongoing legal proceedings.
Despite the speculations, PNP officials reiterated their focus on adhering to legal protocols and providing necessary medical interventions for detainees.
As of Monday, no additional details about Quiboloy’s medical condition or the findings from his latest tests have been disclosed. The PNP is expected to provide further updates once Quiboloy returns to the custodial center on Wednesday.
Quiboloy, a controversial religious figure, continues to face scrutiny as his legal battles unfold, both in the Philippines and abroad.
