UP Law Graduate Kyle Tutor Tops 2024 Bar Exams

The Supreme Court announced today that Kyle Christian Tutor, a graduate of the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Law, has secured the top spot in the 2024 Bar Examinations. Tutor achieved an impressive overall rating of 85.7700%, earning him the distinction of being the bar topnotcher this year.

The 2024 Bar Examinations saw a total of 3,962 successful candidates out of 10,504 applicants, translating to a passing rate of 37.84%. This marks an increase from last year’s 3,812 passers. The examinations, conducted on September 8, 11, and 15, were held across multiple testing centers nationwide, including universities in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The Bar exams covered critical areas of law such as Civil Law, Criminal Law, Political Law, Labor Law, and Legal Ethics, among others. They were administered digitally using Examplify software, with examinees monitored in secure facilities equipped with CCTV and in-person proctors.

The Supreme Court is set to hold the oath-taking ceremony for the new lawyers on January 24, 2025. This announcement further highlights the evolving trends in legal education and licensure in the Philippines, with increasing digitalization and a focus on regional accessibility.
