On January 13, 2025, Malacañang announced the suspension of work in government offices and classes at all levels in Manila and Pasay City in observance of the Iglesia Ni Cristo’s “National Rally for Peace.” The rally, organized by the religious group, is expected to gather thousands of participants promoting peace and unity across the nation.
The suspension aims to ensure a well-coordinated event and minimize disruptions to public order and traffic flow. The decision was made to prioritize the safety and convenience of both the rally participants and the general public.
Private companies and offices were left to the discretion of their respective management, who may adjust work schedules accordingly. Malacañang urged employers to take into consideration the possible challenges posed by heavy traffic and large crowds in the affected areas.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has issued traffic advisories for the affected areas, with road closures and rerouting schemes in place to manage the expected influx of attendees. Commuters and motorists were advised to plan their routes to avoid delays.
Iglesia Ni Cristo’s National Rally for Peace reflects the group’s continuous efforts to foster unity and social harmony. The event is a call for Filipinos from all walks of life to come together in the spirit of peace.
Malacañang reassured the public that essential services, such as hospitals and emergency units, will remain operational, and law enforcement agencies will ensure the safety and security of the rally participants and the general public.
