Actor Jeric Raval has confirmed that his daughter, former Vivamax star AJ Raval, and actor Aljur Abrenica now have two children together. The revelation shed light on AJ’s decision to step away from showbiz and focus on family life.
In an interview with Bandera during the victory dinner of Vice Mayor Marcos Mamay of Nunungan, Lanao del Norte, after the success of the film Mamay: A Journey to Greatness at the 73rd FAMAS Awards on August 22, Jeric explained why AJ left the entertainment industry.
“Ayaw na mag-artista kasi maramdamin ‘yun. Dinidibdib niya ‘yung mga namba-bash sa kanya, sensitive siya sa ganu’n. Sabi ko nga sa kanya (AJ), basta mainit sa kusina, lumabas ka, ‘di ba may kasabihan tayong ganu’n, e, ngayon napagkumpara niya, mas tahimik ngayon (wala sa showbiz),” Jeric said.
According to him, AJ now prefers to stay at home and care for her children rather than face the pressures of public life. He revealed that despite offers from Viva and even other well-known artists to include her in projects, AJ has chosen to remain quiet and focus on motherhood.
‘Kapapanganak pa lang’
When asked about his grandchildren, Jeric proudly shared that he now has 15 in total. Regarding AJ’s children, he confirmed that her youngest was just nine months old.
“Ahh bata pa. Kakapanganak pa lang, eh. ‘Yung mga bali-balita noon, hindi naman ‘yun. Ngayon na lang, siyam (na buwan palang),” Jeric said, clarifying past rumors about AJ’s pregnancy.
He added that AJ’s first child with Aljur is a boy, while their second is a girl. “Babae (at) lalaki, dalawa na, tawag ko (sa lalaking apo), Al Junior,” he shared with a laugh, saying the boy takes after him in appearance.
Jeric also mentioned that while he does not see AJ’s children often, he is proud of them. AJ and Aljur are now residing in Angeles, Pampanga. “Dati isang subdivision lang kami tsaka few blocks lang ngayon sa Carmenville na sila sa Angeles (Pampanga),” he explained.
With AJ stepping away from the limelight, it seems that the actress has embraced her role as a mother fully, prioritizing her children over her entertainment career.
