The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has released its latest weather forecast for Tuesday, August 26, 2025, warning the public of heavy rainfall due to a Low Pressure Area (LPA) combined with the Southwest Monsoon.

As of 3:00 p.m., the LPA was located over the coastal waters of Mercedes, Camarines Norte at 14.1°N, 123.1°E. The weather bureau said the system, along with the prevailing Southwest Monsoon, will continue to enhance rains over Southern Luzon, Visayas, and parts of Mindanao.
Heavy Rainfall Outlook
From today until tomorrow afternoon (August 27), Quezon may receive 100–200 mm of rainfall. Meanwhile, 50–100 mm of rain is expected in Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Laguna, Rizal, Camarines Norte, and Camarines Sur.
The Southwest Monsoon is also forecast to bring 50–100 mm of rain over Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, and Antique. From tomorrow afternoon until Thursday afternoon (August 28), heavy rains will persist in Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Antique, and Negros Occidental. PAGASA warned that rainfall may be higher in mountainous and elevated areas, increasing the risk of flooding and landslides, especially in areas that have already experienced significant rainfall in the past days.
Weather Conditions by Area
- Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Camarines Norte, and Camarines Sur: Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the LPA. Flash floods and landslides remain possible.
- Visayas, MIMAROPA, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, BARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN, and the rest of the Bicol Region: Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms caused by the Southwest Monsoon.
- The rest of Mindanao: Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
Wind and Sea Conditions
Moderate winds from southwest to southeast will prevail over Northern Luzon and the western sections of Central and Southern Luzon, producing moderate seas at 1.2 to 2.1 meters. The rest of the country will have light to moderate winds from the southwest with coastal waters ranging from 0.6 to 1.5 meters.
PAGASA advised local government units and disaster risk reduction offices to remain on alert for possible flooding and landslides. Heavy Rainfall Warnings and Thunderstorm Advisories may be issued in affected areas. The public is urged to take precautionary measures and monitor official updates.
