Mamu’s 2024 Prediction on Arjo and Maine Resurfaces Amid Controversy

A prediction made by well-known tarot reader Gloria Escoto, popularly known as Mamu, in December 2024 has resurfaced following the controversy involving Quezon City 1st District Representative Arjo Atayde and his wife, actress-host Maine Mendoza.

In her interview with Romel Chika, uploaded on YouTube on December 24, 2024, Mamu shared her insights on the couple’s future, which many netizens are now linking to the current issue surrounding flood control projects.

When asked about Atayde, Mamu initially admitted uncertainty about his career but foresaw challenges ahead. “Hindi ako sure kung ano ang trabaho nito, ha. Pwede siyang dumaan sa pagsubok,” she said. She further hinted that the trials would likely involve financial matters. “Pwede siyang masangkot ang pangalan niya sa usapin ng pera.”

Mamu then issued a warning, noting that 2025 could be a stressful year for the 34-year-old actor-politician. “Ingat na lang siguro, magiging stressful ang 2025 niya, na parang didibdibin niya.”

She elaborated that the challenges might center on corruption-related issues but assured that Atayde would face them with composure. “Kumbaga, haharapin niya lang ito at patutunayan niya na hindi siya sangkot. Sa madaling salita, itong cards na ‘to, puwede siyang masangkot sa corruption na issue.”

Despite the dark cloud she foresaw, Mamu expressed optimism that Atayde would overcome the trials. “Malalampasan niya. Magiging tahimik lang siya, yung pakikipaglaban, hanggang sa maging maayos.”

Turning to Maine Mendoza, Mamu pointed out that as Atayde’s wife, she would inevitably share in the ordeal. “Dahil mag-asawa sila, magiging apektado rin ‘to.” Still, she reassured that the couple would endure together. “Dalawa naman nilang haharapin and matatapos naman kung sakali. Pero tahimik nilang haharapin pareho.”

The prediction resurfaced just a day after Atayde’s name trended on social media, September 8, when contractors Sarah and Curlee Discaya linked him and several Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) executives to alleged demands for “kickbacks” from government flood control projects.

While the allegations have yet to be proven, many online users pointed to Mamu’s year-old prediction as eerily aligned with the present controversy, fueling further discussions about the embattled lawmaker’s fate in 2025.
