Diwata Cries in Viral Video, Exposes Struggles of Failed “Diwata Pares” Business

Online personality Diwata, who rose to fame through his humorous videos and food venture Diwata Pares, became emotional in his latest viral appearance after revealing that his once-thriving business is now struggling.

Diwata Pares

In a recent interview with Julius Babao on YouTube, the internet sensation broke down in tears as he recounted how he was allegedly misled into expanding his food brand. According to him, unknown individuals approached him during the peak of his popularity, convincing him to open new branches under promises that seemed too good to resist.

Kinagat ko sila kasi ang ganda-ganda ng paliwanag nila na i-expand ‘yung Diwata Pares. Wala akong gagawin. Pangalan ko lang ang gagamitin,” Diwata explained while crying. He said he was told he would receive P300,000 per branch along with royalty fees, without lifting a finger. However, reality turned out far from what he expected.

Instead of reaping profits, Diwata claimed he shouldered all expenses, from rent to utilities, while others held on to his equipment. “Awareness lang ‘to sa lahat… Imbes na kumita, ako pa ‘yung naagrabyado. Imagine na 300,000 ‘yung babayaran ko plus ‘yung mga gamit ko pa. Pinag-iipunan ko lahat ‘yun,” he lamented.

In another clip circulating online, he revealed his deep frustration over discovering hidden costs in the supposed expansion. “Nakakaiyak talaga. Ang laking halaga nun. 300K… Ako talaga ang magbabayad. Wala akong kaalam-alam na ako ang magbabayad,” he said, adding that he was left with debts instead of income.

The revelations sparked mixed reactions from netizens. Some criticized Diwata for being “too trusting” and accused him of falling into the trap of “fame-driven decisions.” Others, however, expressed sympathy, saying his honesty showed the harsh realities of sudden stardom and the dangers of opportunists taking advantage of viral figures.

“Not everyone who goes viral is ready for the business side of fame,” one commenter wrote. Another said, “Diwata made us laugh during hard times—he deserves a second chance, not ridicule.”

As the viral clips continue to circulate, Diwata’s story now stands as both a cautionary tale and a reminder of how fleeting online fame can be. For his supporters, the hope remains that he can recover and rebuild—not just his business, but also the trust he once had in people.
