Dingdong Dantes Resigns from NYC.
Dingdong Dantes as NYC Commissioner. After 15 years of working as volunteer and official of the National Youth Commission, actor Dingdong Dantes has just filed his resignation from the office as commissioner at-at-large.
In a statement, Dantes said that his years as a commissioner of the NYC has been fulfilling. He added that it was both an honor and privilege to have served the NYC alongside with the professionals working for the development of the youth sector.
He also thanked his co-workers in the commission and in the government particularly President Benigno Aquino for making his experience extra special.
He explained that his effective resignation is for his support to Camarines Sur representative Leni Robredo who is running for a Vice Presidential seat.
Dantes alongside with his wife Marian Rivera-Dantes have been very vocal about their support to the Liberal Party’s vice presidential candidate. Dantes joins other famous celebrities like queen of all Media Kris Aquino in endorsing the VP race of Robredo.
It was September 1, 2014 when Dantes took oath as a commissioner-at-large for the NYC after being appointed by President Aquino.
Before serving the NYC as commissioner-at-large, Dantes have been an active volunteer for the government’s arm for the youth totaling to 10 years of service.
Aside from being on the NYC, Dantes also serves as ambassador for Youth for the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and is an active mobilizer for his own foundations—Yes Pinoy Foundation.
NYC, the commission where Dantes formerly worked for, aims to provide youth with opportunities to be an active partner in nation-building through various youth programs and projects that will develop and harness their potentials and eventually enable them to be of great service to the Philippines.
It is a government affiliated commission that drives new policies and advocacies for youth development and reforms implementing better services for the youth and the communities.
