Brittany Stinson was able to make it to five Ivy League schools.
Columbia, University of Pennsylvania, Yale, Cornell, and Dartmouth were the five Ivy League schools she got into.
Bearing an acceptance rate of 4.69%, Stanford also opened its gates to the high school senior aside from the five Ivy League schools that she was accepted.
Stinson’s Common Application essay with Business Insider helped her made it to those prestigious schools.
She has shared a full copy of her essay in Business Insider’s website.
The Common Application essay is a soft narrative of her personality.
Aside from reflecting the nature of person Brittany is, it includes stories of her trips to Costco when she was still a child.
According to her, she read a quote from an admissions officer before she started the battle with pen and paper.
The quote says that the essay should be recognizable by others who will read it.
For instance, it’s dropped nameless on the ground and a friend of yours picked it up, that friend should be able to identify that it is your story.
The admission officer’s quote really helped Stinson become a success.
It was able to bring her close to six prominent schools.
Taking a look on the tough sides, the high school senior admitted that she found it hard to relay her story in not more than a thousand of words.
Acknowledging the challenge set, she said she really cracked a nutshell in identifying her most obvious and unique qualities.
Further, the girl dropped down large ideas to small chunks so as to make it to the word count criteria of the essay.
Making the essay appear lighter is her way of doing it.
She infused a playful tone into it.
She shared how she and her father talked about the controversial nature of the former president as they bought a hickory smoked ham at Costco.
