PNP Chief Director General Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa reveals his side regarding those police aspirants who have tattoo.
Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Director General Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa expressed his thoughts regarding policemen with tattoo.
Those who are aspiring to be in the PNP must observe certain requirements.
Previously, it was required among aspirants to reach a certain height qualification, however, that was already disregarded.
On the other hand, when it comes to those who have tattoo, the PNP Chief has a strong conviction about this.
He said that even though the right to artistic expression might be used by others for having their skin painted, Dela Rosa iterated that policemen with tattoo would look like criminals.
“Pasensya na sa mga may tattoo ha, alam ko you will invoke your right to express your artistic desires. Sa inyo art, sa amin taboo. Prangkahan tayo… dahil pangit, parang criminal naman tignan ‘di ba, parang sa kulungan puro may tattoo. Parang ex-convict ang pulis ‘pag naka-uniporme na maraming tattoo,” the PNP Chief said, based on the article published in Bandera.
When it comes to height requirements, he is in favor of demolishing it, which was already proposed in Congress.
“Well height requirement sa PNPA (PNP Academy) matagal nang tinanggal ‘di ba… Kasi hindi naman talaga height ang basehan sa kagalingan at kabaitan ng tao ‘di ba. So we are open to that, okay sa amin, wala pong problema pero nasa batas po kasi namin ‘yan so kailangan another law na mag-modify, mag-amend sa batas na ‘yan,” he stated.
PNP Chief Dela Rosa also expressed his advice to those who want to enter the PNPA with tattoo.
“’Yung tago siguro ok lang pero makikita parin ‘yan ‘pag hubad nila roon sa health service dahil hubad ‘yan sila pero advise pa rin natin na tanggalin nila ‘yung tattoo nila,” Dela Rosa said, based on the article.
