Iana Bernardez, Angel Aquino’s eldest daughter is ready to enter the glitz and glamour of show business and she is ready as well to take the challenges that go along with it.
The 24-year-old daughter of the actress/model sees to it that she dutifully finished her studies first before plunging into the industry.
She graduated at the Ateneo de Manila University with a degree in psychology.
Iana initially wanted a behind the scene job but opportunity knocked on her doorsteps as she was offered a lead role in Dwein Baltazar’s “Gusto Kita With All My Hypothalamus.”
“I didn’t really decide to go into acting. I only wanted to try film production. But luckily the opportunity presented itself, and I didn’t want to pass it up,” the young celebrity said.
It is an independent film entry for the Cine Filipino Fest next month, based on the article published in Inquirer.
Iana was first hired in the production as the talent coordinator but one instance change her fate.
Direk Dwein mentioned in one of their meetings, “my peg for the main protagonist was Angel Aquino.”
Since she is indeed the daughter of Angel, she jokingly said that she could play the part.
As a newbie in the industry she auditioned for the role and eventually it landed on her hands.
“I’ve always been interested in acting, although only recently had the courage to pursue it,” Iana shared.
Iana also revealed the acting tips that Angel Aquino taught her.
“Mom told me to stop re-reading the whole script so I wouldn’t get tired of it. She advised me that, after taking in the story and the character, I should take it by day, by sequence. Most importantly, she told me to follow my instincts,” the showbiz newbie related.
Starting with her new movie, Iana said that she envisioned herself to be working with more projects in the future and she is willing to do her best to fulfill the vision of the writer and director for their character and story, based on the source.
