Mayweather-Pacquiao 2: ‘Depends If The Fans Want It’

With all the statements that have been released by Manny Pacquiao regarding his retirement, many still believe that he can still fight against other boxers and even have the Mayweather-Pacquiao 2.

The eight-division boxing champ won via a unanimous decision against Tim Bradley last Sunday (Manila time). He even scored two knockdowns. Many say that he seemed to be like he is a few years ago with regards to his performance in Pacquiao-Bradley 3.

Sports analysts like Stephen Espinoza, Showtime Sports executive vice president, and general manager think that a rematch between Floyd Maywather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao could be possible if the fans want it.

Espinoza expressed how he was impressed by Pacquiao’s performance on his last fight.

He said in a report in Yahoo Sports that Pacquiao looked as good as he is four years ago. Espinoza added that the Pacman still has the quickness, speed and being active.

In an interview with GMA News Online, Pacquiao said that having the rematch is still hard to tell but, it depends on the people.

“It’s hard to tell [if Pacquiao vs. Mayweather 2 could happen], we can’t answer that for now but it all depends if the fans want it,” Pacquiao said as quoted in the article.

“Right now he’s retired, I am retired as well so we can’t say just yet. That’s another story that we have to think about,” he added.

The fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao is the so-called “Fight of the Century” or the “Battle for Greatness”. This fight has been watched by millions of people worldwide. It also broke records in terms of Pay-Per-View gross.
