Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is an annual film festival held in Metro Manila, the Philippines. The festival, which runs from December 25 (Christmas) through New Year’s Day and into first weekend of January in the following year, focuses on Filipino films. During the course of the festival, only films approved by the jurors of the MMFF are shown in movie theaters and no foreign movies are shown except in 3D theaters and IMAX theaters.
Last year 2018, the films participated in the festival were “All of You” starred by Jennylyn Mercado and Derek Ramsay; “Ang Panday” starred by Coco Martin; “Gandarrapidoo: The Revenger Squad” starred by Vice Ganda, Daniela Padilla, and Pia Wurtzbach; “Meant To Beh” starred by Vic Sotto and Dawn Zulueta; “Deadma Walking” starred by Edgar Allan Guzman and Joross Gamboa; “Siargao” starred by Erich Gonzalez, Jericho Rosales, and Jasmin Curtis-Smith; “Haunted Forest” starred by Jane Oineza, Jameson Blake, Maris Racal, and Jon Lucas; and “Ang Larawan” starred by Rachel Alejandro, Paulo Avelino, and Joanna Ampil.
This year, the ‘Magic 8’ that will compete for the MMFF and will entertain us Filipinos are the following:
