Burgos Kin Seeks Justice For The Next President Of The Philippines To The Missing Jonas Burgos
Burgos kin asked the next president of this country for the justice of the missing farmer-activist Jonas Burgos.
According to the family of Burgos, President Benigno S. Aquino III promised them that he will give justice for Jonas Burgos but his latter administration soon ends yet the justice for him became elusive.
“The President’s inaction on the case is the same inaction we saw from the former president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
If we’ve found Arroyo guilty, then how can we say that President Aquino is not part of the state’s cover up of the crime?” said JL the younger brother of Jonas.
What’s more worst in here is that according to JL, he indicated that the mastermind of the disappearance of his brother is the former Colonel Eduardo Año who’s the recent chief of the Philippine Army.
To recall the incident, it was on April 28, 2007, when the unknown suspect abducted Jonas Burgos as he ate his lunch alone in the mall of Quezon City. Jonas Burgos, the third child of press freedom icon Jose Burgos Jr., is one of the famous desaparecido or victims of an enforced disappearance in the Philippines that until now has no found justice for him.
