Roxas Concedes, Raises White Flag for Failure to be PNoy’s Successor.
Roxas Concedes. The unofficial tally showing a wide gap of tough-talking Mayor Rodrigo Duterte made Administration standard bearer Mar Roxas to finally concede defeat on Tuesday afternoon saying that the tally is clear to determine who is winning.
He addressed to his supporters encouraging everyone to accept and respect the majority of the Filipino voters.
“Ayon sa unofficial count ng Comelec, si Mayor Digong ang magiging susunod na pangulo ng bansa,” he said.
He also thanked all those who supported his campaign and all those who voted for him in yesterday’s election.
As of posting, Duterte led by 15, 342, 568 representing more than 91 percent of the Nationwide Election Returns while Roxas trailing behind with only 9, 245, 813 votes in the partial unofficial tally of votes.
Earlier, Roxas asked Sen. Grace Poe to support his candidacy to beat the then survey-leading Duterte but the lady senator refused saying Roxas is not even sure if her supporters will cast their votes for the LP Standard bearer.
Duterte, whose campaign machinery are the people, reigned supreme in the last surveys showing a potential in winning the presidential race.
Though being lambasted by various camp for his controversial remarks and even his ‘fake bravery,’ Duterte’s supporters prove anew that they are solid especially in aiming for change.
Meanwhile in the vice-presidential race, Representative Leni Robredo is in retaining leade with 13, 426, 097 pass Sen. Bongbong Marcos with an inch of 13, 240, 924 votes in the unofficial tally.
